1
Q

Glucose and fructose both have an atomic composition C6H12O6 but they are different molecules. What is most likely the major difference between them?

Q

List 2 differences between crystals and polymers?

A

Crystals are a structure of atoms or molecules but polymers are only structures of molecules. Crystals are in a 3D pattern but polymers are in a repeating chain pattern.

Q

Can you have two different crystals that are made up of the same atom? Give an example. How is it the same? How is it different?

A

Yes, you can. Because the structure of the atoms could be different, causing the property of the elements change. The diamond and graphite are both made out of carbon. Both diamond and graphite are made out of carbon Adams, which makes them the same. Graphite has a repeating powder for the structure of the atoms which diamonds don’t have.
