Who is affected?

A

Mainly infants and is more prevalent in warm climates

How is it spread?

A

Via skin contact, shared towels, autoinoculation e.g shaving or sex, spread is also more likely in wet environments i,e children who bathe together

A

Signs and Symptoms (8)

A

clusters of small round papules 1-6mm, pink/white/brown, waxy/shiny appearance, central pit, contains cheesy white material, mostly in armpits/backs of knees/groin, often have localised dermatitis, as resolve become inflammed/crusty/scabby

What are the complications? (4)

A

Secondary bacterial infection from itching, conjuntivitis when eyelid infected, disseminated secondary eczema, scarring

What is the treatment? (7)

A

Picking out the soft white core (be hygienic due to infectious nature), cryotherapy, curettage, laser ablation, antiseptics, wart paints (salicylic acid), mild corticosteroid for secondary dermatitis
