A

Maybe alcoholic, oily solutions, or emulsions

18
Q

Liniment

A

Maybe applied on a warm dressing with brush

19
Q

A

Vehicle used = alcholoh and ether
Very volatile

24
Q

A

Vehicle evaporates leaving a protective film on the body

25
Q

Collodions

A

Pyroxylin( nitrocellulose) - film producing agent
Castor oil - flexibility

26
Q

Collodions

A

Un medicated ones - for protecting small cuts and abrasions
Medicated ones - long contact with skin.

27
Q

Advantages of monophasic dosage forms

A
  1. Improved patient compliance because they are easy to administer
  2. Faster drug absorption
  3. Easy to take a dose because they are homogeneous; hence, no shaking required.
  4. Simple and relatively faster to formulate.
28
Q

Disadvantages

A
  1. Microbial growth because of water
  2. May undergo hydrolysis and become unstable
