Moral theories
Are frameworks or systems of principles that seek to explain and guide ethical behaviour and decision-making.
Utilitarianism- focuses on maximising overall happiness of utility
– will it be a good outcome for the greater good?
Deontology- is duty based, emphasises the inherent moral principles or duties that guide ethical decision-making. According to deontologists, certain actions are inherently right or wrong.
– when you fail to follow your duty, that’s when your acting immorally
Virtue ethics- focuses on the character and moral virtues of individuals rather than specific actions or consequences
