Mortlach has 3 spirits stills (9,300 litre charge) - all boil ball. Plus an intermediate still called the Wee-Witchie (7,000 litre charge)

Mortlach is 2.81 times distilled.
The #3 pair of stills acts as a traditional double distillation.
The #1 and #2 wash stills are directed to the remaining spirits stills according to a certain distribution (about 80%). In one of the spirits stills (called the Wee-Witchie) the charge is re-distilled three times with the heart being collected on the third run.
The total of all the various distillations = 2.81 times distilled.
