Delusion -> false, fixed belief
Otthelo syndrome
Delusion of infidelity: Belief that a spouse is unfaithful despite no evidence to confirm it
Seen in chronic alcoholics
Magnan syndrome
Delusion of persecution + tactile hallucination: False belief that others intend to harm them + false feeling of touch/movement on body (bugs)
Seen in psychosis
Chlerambault syndrome
Delusion of love: False belief that someone is in love with them (often someone of higher social status)
Cotard syndrome
Nihilistic Delusion: False belief of being dead, decomposed or annihilated (having lost ones own internal organs)
Ekbom syndrome
False belief of parasite in body
Matchbox sign -> brings a box to doctor which is empty
