What is clinical radiology and what is it used for?
The use of medical imaging to visualise tissues:
- Clinical diagnosis.
- Treatment planning.
- Disease monitoring.
- Image guided intervention.
What are the 3 phases of fracture healing, and what are they split into?
Inflammatory phase - haematoma formation, tissue death and inflammation.
Reparative phase - angiogenesis, soft (fibrocartilaginous) callus formation, and hard callus formation.
Remodelling.
What does the adhesion of skin to underlying fascia create?
Skin creases.
What is the rotation and the degree to which it occurs of the upper and lower limbs?
Upper limb = 90 degree external rotation.
Lower limb = 90 degree internal rotation.
