What does Mukti mean?
The word ‘Mukti’ means ‘liberation’, ‘freedom’ and ‘release’.
What is Mukti?
Mukti is liberation from the cycle of birth, death and rebirth (a.k.a. reincarnation). The aim of human life is to escape this cycle and escape rebirth.
Mukti is a blissful and perfect state for all of humanity. It can take several lifetimes to achieve this.
What does ‘Hukam’ mean?
By the will of the Waheguru
What happens during Mukti?
Mukti cannot be described as no one alive has ever experienced it, however the Sikh belief is that no one alive has ever experienced this it will be eternal peace.
The Guru Granth Sahib teaches that the body is simply clothing for the soul and is discarded at death.
What does Atma mean?
Name for the soul- A spiritual spark or light in our body, that doesn’t perish with it.
How can a Sikh achieve mukti?
Rid yourself of all the things standing between you and God. They can do this by getting closer to God through prayer and sewa (selfless-service), as well as avoiding the 5 evils and avoiding temptations.
