Muscles List Flashcards
latissimus dorsi (origin & insertion)
Origin: spinous process of vertebrae T6-L5, thoracolumbar fascia, iliac crest, Inferior 3 or 4 ribs, Inferior angle of scapula
insertion: intertubercular groove of the humerus
latissimus dorsi- innervation & action
Innervation: thoracodorsal nerve
Action: Adducts, extends and internally rotates the arm, very powerful rotator of the trunk

Origin
short head: coracoid process of scapula
long head: supraglenoid tubercle
Insertion
radial tuberosity & bicipital aponeurosis
biceps brachii- innervation and action
innervation: musculocutaneous nerve
Action: Flexes elbow, flexes and abducts shoulder, supinates radioulnar joint in the forearm
triceps brachii (innervation and action)
innervation- radial nerve
action- extends forearm, long head extends, adducts arm, extends shoulder
triceps brachii (origin & insertion)
