Iliac crest, inguinal ligament, thoracolumbar fascia, and costal cartilages of ribs 7-12.
INSERTION
Abdominal aponeurosis, linea alba, and pubic crest.
ACTION
Compresses abdominal contents.
INNERVATION
Intercostal nerves.
Rectus abdominis

ORIGIN
Crest of pubis and Symphysis pubis.
INSERTION
Costal cartilage of ribs 5-7, xiphoid process.
ACTION
Flexes trunk and compresses abdominal contents.
INNVERVATION
Intercostal nerves.
External oblique

ORIGIN
Ribs 5-12.
INSERTION
Abdominal aponeurosis, linea alba, and pubic crest.
ACTION
Compression of abdominal contents, flexes trunk (bilaterally), lateral trunk flexion (unilaterally), and trunk rotation.
INNVERVATION
Intercostal nerves.
Internal oblique

ORIGIN
Inguinal ligament, Iliac crest, and the thoracomlumbar fascia.
INSERTION
Abdominal aponeurosis, linea alba, and ribs 10-12.
ACTION
Compression of abdominal contents, flexes trunk (bilaterally), lateral trunk flexion (unilaterally), and trunk rotation.
