Flexes the forearm at the elbow

Extends the arm at the elbow

Rotates the forearm laterally

Separates the thoracic cavity from the abdominal cavity

Contraction expands and lowers the ribs during breathing

Also compresses the abdominal wall

Flexes the vertebral column and compresses the abdominal wall

Raises the arms and pulls the shoulders downward

Extends the thigh
