- prone to fractures
- weak muscles
- laxed joints
- osteoporosis
- easy bruising
Legg calve perthes disease
- Avascular Necrosis of the femoral head
- Femoral head becomes flattened
Legg calve perthes disease S/S:
- decreased hip ROM (>IR and ABD)
- hip flexion contracture
- trendelenburg GAIT
- Spasm adductors and iliopsoas
What is Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis?
-Femoral neck is displaced anteriorly or superiorly (appears as if femoral head is slipped)
Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis S/S:
- pain in groin,medial thigh, and knee
- Leg in ER
- Limited in flexion ,abd, and IR
- Inability to WB due to pain if acute
What is Osgood-Schlatter Disease?
-severe tendonitis of the patellar tendon due to tractioning of the quads.
What is Osteochondritis Dissecans?
-Cracking of articular cartilage and underling bone.
What is Sever Disease?
Over tractioning of achilles at calcaneal insertion.
what is Turf Toe?
Hyperextenion unjury to 1 MTP
What is a Lisfranc Fracture?
Tarsometatarsal joint in foot
What is the Female Athlete Triad?
Amenorrhea
Decreased caloric intake
decreased bone density
