Ball & Socket. Allows movement for the hindlimb.

Long muscle fibre. Causes the ribs to move.

Cartilage. Shock absorption.
What is the structure & function of the scapula?
Attach to the thorax by muscle. Forms the shoulder joint of the forelimb.
What is the structure & function of the skull.
Case of bone. Protects the brain.
What is the structure & function of the pelvis.
Collection of 6 bones. Protects the bladder & joins the axial skeleton to hindlimb.
What does the fibrous tissue do?
Hold bones together with very little movement.
What does cartilaginous provide?
A small amount of movement.
What does synovial allow?
Free moving joints.
