  2. On our walk you will hear 2 different kinds of sound, natural and manmade. What are examples of each?

  1. Most of the time we hear passively, but today we are going to practive active listening.
  2. Close your eyes for 30 seconds and focus on the sounds around you. Listen especifially for things wouldn’t normally think to listen for.
  3. What did you hear?
  4. This is a skill that can help when listening to music to help you mentally deconstruct how a song was put together. When you isolate a technique you hear it’s easier to add it to your own production.

  3. Explain recording interface (input level, peaking, monitor, record)
  4. Capture a man made sound
  5. switch to tracks view and demonstrate adding a new track to create a multi track recording
  6. pull out track controls (mute, solo, levels)
  7. TAKE 20 MINUTES TO CAPTURE AT LEAST 4 DISTINCT SOUNDS for later editing
