  1. Italian general and four staff assassinated in Greece.
  2. Muss blames Greek Gov demands full apology and 50 million lira compensation
  3. They refuse, Muss bombards and occupies Corfu.
  4. European powers (led by Britain) demand they withdraw
  5. Duce agrees but no apology only compensation
  6. Hailed as big success in Italy- promote Fascist power and prestige.

December 1934 -at Wal-Wal Oasis 30 Italian soldiers were killed
League of Nations enquiry- Muss not interested already secretly ordered total conquest of Ethiopia
Ruthless- gas; aerial bombing no chance for Africans.
He was popular in Italy as successful but Britain & France outraged order economic sanctions on Italy could have closed Suez Canal but they didn’t bother.
