Protagonist
The main character in a story
Setting
Where or when a story takes place
Plot
The events (expostion, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution) in a story
Antagonist
The opposing force that brings conflict to the protagonist
Complications
(Problems) The struggle between opposing forces. This drives the story
Exposition
The first part of the plot and the characters, setting and basic situation are revealed
Inciting Incident
The event that sets the story in motion and makes the rest of the story possible
Rising Action
The main part of the story and moves the plot along and the part where the complications arise
Climax
The most exciting or intense part of the story for the protagonist the OMG part and usually the turning part.
Falling Action
Events that follow the climax and lead to the resolution and the conflict begins moving towards the resolution
Resolution
The end of the story and the loose ends of the plot are tied up, and all conflicts are resolved
Mood
The “atmosphere” of writing. It is the emotions a text gives readers.
Tone
The author’s attitude towards a topic, event, person, etc.
Media
The means of communication
Accuracy
Quality of being exact
Multistep
Involving two or more distinct steps or stages
