A

Supporting the specification and procurement of the ATMS for HE.

What significant pieces did you do in FJ?

A

Developed the security architecture for a SOA solution for defence. This includes getting it CTAS’d.

Developing SOA based methodologies as part of a Tiger team, to help MOD to best exploit the new technology better.

Engaging with senior members of the assurance team in MOD to get buy in.

Risk assessment and management, vulnerability identification and treatment of command and control and situation awareness capability.

Developed the security architecture for deployable infrastructure, proof of concept.

A

FJ - influenced MOD’s assurance team with regards to a revised approach to assurance that was more aligned with SOA.

Atkins - influenced the business Directors of ISF membership based on the benefits it would offer the business.

Atkins - Influenced MOD of revising their future approach to holistically assessing the cyber strength of platforms and capability.

Can you provide an example of where you put the customer first?

A

I’m used to working face-to-face with the client. All of my delivery work is about assessing their problems and working with them to identify their needs.

MOD example. Working with them to understand their needs, to identify the problems, to identify possible approaches and to implement the changes alongside them.

A

Working with the customer and continuously refining approach to meet their needs; i.e. adapting to changing requirements.

A

HA, worked with the customer as a member of the team. Ensured that my role was constructive towards the overarching objectives of the team. Actively participated in discussion and knowledge sharing. Happily surfaced problems to ensure there was a collective view on ways forward.

Why do you want to leave Atkins?

A

Good company, however, the original intent of growing the practice outside of the Defence market never materialised. I joined both to help grow the practice and to get experience in the financial sector. I’d like to be a CISO of a large financial institution.
