Run “Disk Utility” on Mac. Select your flash drive, displayed on the left side. Click on the “Erase” tab. The hard drive erasing tab will pop up. “Set a name and the GUID Partition Map will pop up.” (I did not do this) Choose “ExFAT” from the dropdown menu for the format, and name your drive Click “Erase”

What is a video codec?
The codec (or coder-decoder) is the software that compresses and decompresses the video and audio data housed in a container. This reduces file sizes, making footage much easier to work with. Simply put, without compression, one hour of HD footage could easily fill a hard drive. Each codec will compress footage differently, so the best choice will depend entirely on what the content creator wants to preserve

Yes. But apparently only when the clip is displayed in the timeline. When i did this on 3.6.2022, with barlow (I had started using markers to before I synced, i saw the markers in the synced clip, but not in the browserl.

3. you’ll see three boxes “color,” “saturation, “ and “exposure.” click on exposure###
4. click on “view” above that, to the left of the filmstrip and select video scopes
5. Look at the “luma” option. if it’s above 100, it’s overexposed (box on the left with streaks)
6. start with the highlights option - below the round balls. drag it down so the luma is below 100
7. go to the ‘shadows” option - and drag the streaks so they go below zero - this creates a contrasted option
8. adjust the midtowns so the pic looks good
9. turn off the video scopes

How do you create a basic split screen?
11 steps
-Move both clips/photos to timeline, one on top of the other
-Put a custom generator between them
-V (disable) the top clip
-click on the custom generator and then go to the Inspector and crop the generator so the photo or clip is on the left side
-transform the clip or photo
-Hit V (reativate) the top clip
-Drag another custom generator atop the top clip
-click on the custom generator, and then go to inspector and crop it to reveal the second photo or clip
-transform the clip so it's centered properly
-select the custom generator and the top photo/clip and make a compound clip
-crop the compound clip to reveal both photos

When you edit the contents of a compound clip (for example, by trimming or adding effects to clips within the compound clip), you are in fact editing all instances of that compound clip, including the parent compound clip in the browser. Any changes you make to the internal parts of the compound clip are inherited by all of its child clips, in all projects.

What is the event viewer?
Sometimes, you may need two viewers so that you can play back and skim event clips separately from timeline clips. The event viewer is a separate video display that appears next to the main viewer. With the event viewer and the viewer open, you can display two clips at the same time: one from the browser and one from the timeline
