Adam
First man created by God. His name means “man”
Eve
First woman on earth, meaning “mother of all”
Cain
Brother of Abel; he is envious; he kills Abel.
Noah
Instructed by God to build an ark.
Abraham
Conversations with God about him destroying the city of sodom. He negotiates with God, not wanting God to destroy the innocent people.
Sarai/Sarah
Has a miracle child named Isaac;
Hagar
Sarah’s maid, mother of Ishmael. She leaves do to a disagreement, and exposes baby Ishmael under a bush.
Ishmael
Baby of Hagar, who is left out in the desert, under a bush, to die.
Isaac
Son of Abraham, who was almost sacrificed as a baby. When older, Abe sent out a servant to Mesopotamia to find a wife for Isaac.
Isaac marries Rebecca.
She becomes pregnant with twins ~ Jacob and Esau
Jacob/Israel
Son of Isaac, tricks his father and brother and gets the inheritance.
Moses
Prince of Egypt; sent away in a basket as a baby, later; Sent by God to deliver the Israelites from Egypt.
Aaron
Moses’ brother who speaks for Moses to Pharaoh during the exodus.
Joshua
Captured the city of Jericho.
Deborah
First female leader; prephetess; wrote a song in praise of The Lord.
Samson
Israelite leader, who had amazing strength; ripping the jawbone out of a donkey and using it to kill 1,000 Philistines. He made a fool of himself believing a dishonest lady named Delilah.
Hannah
Barren women praying to God for a child. Ends up giving birth to Samuel. Famous for her prayer.
Samuel
A miracle child. Taken to priest Eli and having God call him three times. He was the last judge who appointed Saul King.
Saul
First king.
Started out good, but then fell through to listening to God’s rules.
He took the Amalekites’ captured animals and gave them to his soldiers.
God did not like this.
Jesse
David’s father

Second king; killed Goliath; 4 sinful acts; spared Sauls life twice; man of character.
Goliath
Big giant who was killed by David
Nathan Solomon
A prophet, who speaks with David, gives him advice; Tells of dream
Ezra
Head Priest who read book of law to the people form daybreak till midday, and explained it to them. He told them not to weep.
