- Tenderness
- Alignment
Airflow
- Occlude one nostril and ask patient to breathe
- Assess difference in airflow between the two nostrils

Otoscope

New speculum 
Right nostril, left hand 
Insert gently 
Identify structures
- Septum
- Turbines (inferior turbinate commonly seen) 
- Signs of inflammation 
- Polyps or foreign body
