Jewish businesses were attacked and windows of shops were smashed.

it meant that Hitler had control of everything and everyone had to do what he said.

it is a way of using things like posters, the media or even stories from other people, to make people think a certain way.
who was Joseph Goebbels?
he was employed by Hitler to use propaganda and even make films, to make Hitler look like a hero and persuade people to think that Hitler’s rules were good for Germany
who were the Gestapo?
they were secret security who looked after Hitler and followed his orders. people were terrified of them and they would even arrest people in the middle of the night if they had said or done anything against Hitler. Many times people had done no wrong but were never seen again.

this was when the Reichstag building, Germany’s parliament was set on fire, on February 27th 1933.
