sudden acute and painless loss of vision in one eye. fundoycopic exam shows red lesion (cherry red spot) with surrounding pale retina).

A

central retinal artery occlusion. pale color is caused by ischemia of retina. RF== older, HTN, DM, smoking. most common cause = carotid artery atherosclerosis. tx: hyperbaric oxygen and ocular massage.
