Painful, red gingivae
Halitosis
Punched out ulceration of interdental papilla
Grey necrotic sloughing

What is the management of ANUG?
A
OHI
PMPR
Smoking cessation
Analgesia
If systemic involvement - prescribe metronidazole or amoxicillin
Review within 10 days

What are the 2 prescriptions for ANUG with systemic involvement?
A
Metronidazole- 400mg 1 capsule 3xdaily for 3days. NO ALCOHOL.
Amoxicillin- 500mg, take 1 capsule 3x daily for 3 days
