Controls most functions of the body and mind

Connect the CNS to the organs, limbs, and skin
What are the main organs of the CNS?
The main organs of the CNS is the spinal chord and the brain
What are the main organs of the PNS?
The main organs if the PNS is the nerves and the ganglia
What is a neurone?
A specialized cell transmitting nerve cells
What is the function of a neurone?
Carries messages, as electrical messages, rapidly to and from different parts of the body
What is the function of a cell body?
Carries out metabollic activities for the cell
What is the function of a dendrite?
To recieve impulses
What is the function of an axon?
To transmit impulses

There are three types of nerve cells

What is the function of the Sensory Neurone?
Carries impulses from the receptor to CNS
What is the function of the Motor Neurone?
Carries nerve impulses from the CNS to the effectors
What is the function of the Intermediate/Connector/Associate Neurone?
Forms the link between sensory and motor neurone
What is a synapse?
A space that seperates one nerve cell from another
