nervous system Flashcards
central nervous system structure
brain
spinal cord
peripheral nervous system
motor neurones - sonomatic nervous system or autononmic nervous system - sympathetic division or parasympathetic division
sensory neurones
other nerve cells
CNS and PNS
the CNS is the control center and coordinates the body’s voluntary and involuntary activities
the PNS is divided into the somatic nervous system and the autonomic nervous system
autonomic nervous system
it controls automatic body actions like breathing and our heartbeat by conducting nerve impulses to and from the CNS. its divided into two parts:
sympathetic nervous system - prepares the body for dealing with emergencies by increasing the heart and breathing rates
