Groups of cells that are sensitive to a stimulus such as light or heat

What are sensory neurones
The cell that carry signals from receptors in the sense organs to the central nervous system
What does the central nervous system consists of
Consists of the brain and spinal cord only
What are motor neurones
The cells that carry signals from the CNS to the effectors
What do lots of neurones form
A bundle to make up a nerve
What are effectors
All the muscles and glands which respond to nervous impulses
What does the CNS do
Send information to the relevant effector along the motor neurones
What do sense organs contain
Receptors that detect stimuli
