poignant
Poignant means something that is emotionally moving, often sad, touching, or deeply affecting the heart.
It’s used to describe things that stir your feelings — especially sad beauty, nostalgia, or emotional truth.
Erudite
Erudite means having or showing deep knowledge, especially from reading and studying a lot. It’s a formal and positive word, often used to describe very intelligent, well-educated people.
Indistinct
Indistinct means not clear or not easy to see, hear, or understand.
It’s the opposite of distinct (which means clear or easy to notice).
Implicate
To show that someone is involved in something bad (like a crime or wrongdoing).
• “He was implicated in the scandal.” • “The evidence implicates her in the theft.”
Egregious
Egregious means extremely bad or shockingly wrong — so bad that it stands out.
It’s used when someone does something obviously wrong, unacceptable, or offensive.
Excursion
An excursion is a short trip or outing, usually for fun, sightseeing, or educational purposes. It’s not a long vacation — it’s more like a day trip or a short adventure.
Insinuate
To suggest something indirectly, usually something bad or negative.
• “Are you insinuating that I lied?” • “He insinuated that she got the promotion unfairly.”

Insulate
To protect something by surrounding it, often to block heat, cold, or sound.

A treadmill is a machine for walking or running in place, usually used indoors for exercise. The belt moves under your feet, and you can adjust the speed and incline.
Cardio
Cardio is short for cardiovascular exercise — it refers to any physical activity that raises your heart rate and improves heart and lung health.
Disrepute
Disrepute means having a bad reputation or being seen as dishonorable or untrustworthy by others.
It’s the opposite of reputation (which can be good or bad).
Disrepute = a bad name or low public opinion.
Gratuity
A gratuity is a small amount of money given voluntarily, usually as a tip for good service.
Examples:

• “Service charge and gratuity may already be included in the bill.”
cappella
A cappella means singing without instrumental accompaniment — only voices, no piano, guitar, etc.
Examples:

Sublimated rage
Sublimated rage is anger that is not expressed directly, but instead is transformed into more acceptable or constructive behavior — often unconsciously.
This concept comes from Freudian psychology, where sublimation is a defense mechanism.
Adversity
Adversity means difficulties, hardship, or unfavorable conditions — especially things that test your strength or courage.

Grumpy

Choir
A choir is a group of people who sing together, especially in churches or formal music performances.
Examples:
• “She sings in the church choir every Sunday.”
• “The school choir performed at the concert.”
Chorus
A. A chorus can also mean a group of singers, like a choir, especially in musical theatre or opera.

Example:

Examples:
