Network Flashcards
(9 cards)
What is a hub
It is a rectangular box used as a central object where other devices can is connected to it.
What is a repeater
An electronic device that receive a signal remove unnecessary noise from it regenerate it and re transmits it at a higher power level so that the signal can cover longer distances without degradation An electronic apparatus that receives a signal, eliminates extraneous noise, regenerates it, and retransmits it at an elevated power level, thereby enabling the signal to traverse greater distances without degradation.

What is a switch
A routing device used in communication to route transmissions between network nodes.
What is a bridge
It connects multiple network segments at the data link layer of the OSI level.
What is a router
A network is a device that facilitates the connection between network devices
What is a network
A network consists of two or more computers that are linked in order to share resources (such as printers and CDs), exchange files, or allow electronic communications.
