What is a network?
Two or more connected devices that can share data and resources.
What does WAN stand for?
Wide Area Network.
Which piece of hardware manages the transfer of data between devices on LAN?

What is Ethernet?
A family of network protocols used for wired connections between devices on a LAN
What is a bandwidth network?
The amount of data that can transferred over a network in a given time.
How are devices connected in a star topology?
Every device is directly a central device that controls the network.
What is a packet of data?
A block of data to be transferred over a packet switching network with a header containing information like the destination address.
What is the role of a checksum?
To check that the data hasn’t been corrupted during the transit.`

A group of protocols that have similar network functionality.
What does FTP stand for?
File Transfer Protocol.
What are URLs?
They are web addresses used to access web servers and the resources stored on them.
What does file hosting mean?
When a business uses its servers to score another organisation’s files.
What does an active attack mean.
When someone uses malware or other direct methods to attack a network.

Encrypt the data sent over the network.
What is meant by social engineering?
Gaining sensitive information or illegal access to networks by influencing people.
