Describe the path of CSF in the brain

  • Produced in the choroid plexuses (mainly lateral ventricles.)

  • Then moves backwards into 4th ventricle (via cerebral aqueduct.)
  • From 4th ventricle to subarachnoid space via foramen of Magendie and Luschka.
  • Reabsorption occurs at arachnoid granulations.
  • This then drains into venous sinus blood.
