What were the consequences of the war in Afghanistan
A
Soviet withdrawal left the county in chaos. Brutal warlords took over and fought each other
The mujahideen organised themselves into a powerful international terrorist movement, called the Islamic unity of Afghanistan Mujahideen.

What happened in the gulf war?
A
1991 Saddam Hussein (president of Iraq) used violence to rule his country. The west saw him as a friend against the fundamentalist Muslim government of Iran. The west therefore supplied Hussein with chemical weapons during the Iraq-Iran war. In 1990 Hussein invaded Kuwait, a small oil rich state. George Bush senior organised a coalition which drove the Iraqis out of Kuwait.
