1.Causes of the Reformation were….
- main problems people had with the church were the corrupt ness and greed being demonstrated prior.
- This movement was led by Martian Luther and his 95 thesises and continues with Johnn Calvin and Henry VIII.
- Other complaints included charging for last rights during the plauge and the sale of indulgences.
1.Reformation?
a movement of people from Europe known as Protestants based on their dissatisfaction.
1.The effects of the reformation?
Numerous new religons were formed causing the church to reexamine their ways.
1.Counter- Reformation?
Led by pope Paul the 3rd, contain the spread of other religons.
1.Causes of the Counter - reformation?
Many people being unhappy with the Cathloic church and leaving to join new religons
1.What were the effects of the counter reformation?
Catholic leaders met at the concil of Trent and disscused ways of reforming the church such as stopping the sale of indulgences, better tranning priests and restating basic cathloic belifs

2.Middle class development?
a result so did a new group of people wanting a say in the gov. This new group known as the middle class grew rapidly and the more money they made, the more say in the gov. they recived.

Theory: colonies existed to enrich the home country (a system of exploration); colonies sent out raw materials for use in European industires;’products manufactured from the raw materials were sold back to the colonies profit.

A)Religious freedom to the common or the poor people of the Atlantic powers.
B)Better opportunities for jobs, money, and land.
- When would colonization only occur?
colonization would only occur if somone could prove to the monarch tf the mother country that the area to be colonized posseded somthing worthwhile for the mother country.

What was his Religon?
Philip of Spain( cathloic ) hoped to invade and defeat England ( Protestant ) Queen Elizabeth I.
- What was the result of the invasion?
he sent the Spanish Armada against England in 1588 but the English win and remained Protestant.
- Why was defeating the Spanish Armada signifagant?
- the Spanish Armada was considered the best navy of the time.
- The defeat made the rest of the world take notice of England and her ever growing power. It also caused a shift in the rankings of powers.
- Why was Philip of Spain so confident in defeating queen Elizabeth?
- he was a man
