What is an IDG, what are they rated at?

A

Integrated Drive Generator. Primary AC power. Automatically comes online when engine is started and powers the respective AC BUS.
40 kVAT, 115 VAC, 400 Hz, 3 phase.

How would we go about disconnecting and can we reconnect?

A

Hold IDG in DISC position for one second. the IDG has to be r reconnected by maintenance.

A

it closes the fuel shut off valve, hydraulic and bleed air shut off valves - and cross bleed valve

Can you discharge both bottles into one engine?

A

yes, after you pull, you rotate the same fire handle in both positions.

What happens when we put the XFEED to LOW 1?

A

it turns on AC FUEL PUMP 2 and feeds it to engine 1 and engine 2.
it opens up the crossfeed valve.
cross feed valve opens first.

A

engine starting - same side AC pump turns on.

cross feed operation - cross side AC pump turns on

AC pump 2 or pump 1 if cross feed is open

APU turning on- when engine not running, DC pump is on if no AC power
