Newtons Laws Of Motion Flashcards
(5 cards)
What is newtons 1st law?
An object will remain at rest or at constant velocity unless acted upon by a resultant force
What is inertia?
Inertia is the natural tendency of an object to resist changes to its state of motion.
What is newtons 2nd law?
The rate of change of momentum of an object is directly proportional to the resultant force acting upon it and the change in momentum is in the same direction as the force.
What is newtons third law?
When body A exerts a force on body B, body B exerts an equal but opposite force on body A of the same type.
What is the definition of an impulse?
The product of force and the time for which this force acts on an object.
It is the area under a force-time graph.
