    — well tolerated
    CI: pregnancy + lactation

May increase risk of bleeding if on
anticoag

ASRs: reduced libido, hypo , headache, GI upset

Beta sitosterol (plant cholesterol) + BPH

A

Normally used for dyslipidemia (found in some foods but at low levels)

MoA: inhibit 5alpha reductase + prostate cell proliferation

Efficacy: showed some decrease in symptoms
well tolerated

likely effective + could even recommend

Lycopene + BPH /prostate health

A

Found in tomato plants
- though to stop cancer cell growth
—- epidemiological studies showed increase intake —- decrease in prostate incidence (no RCT support, little benefit for BPH)

May be effective for prostate cancer
not enough evidence for BPH
