What is the definition of Night?

A

The period of time that:

  • Starts at the end of evening civil twilight (when the sun’s disk is 6 degrees below the horizon and descending. About 25 min after sunset)
  • Ends that the start of morning civil twilight (when the sun’s disk is 6 degrees above the horison and rising. About 25 min before sunrise)

Civil twilight is that space of time after the sun goes down (or before it comes up) but it is still light enough to see.

  • 5 hours of dual (including 2 x-countries)
  • 5 hours of solo, including 5 takeoffs and landings)
