Definition - Air tight; not allowing passage of air.

Context- religious, holy devoted, faithful and educated
Definition - Having or showing reverence (honor/worship) for deity, devotion
Abyss - We were still trembling, and with every screech of the wheels, we felt the abyss opening beneath us.

Definition - The bottomless pit or chaos in the universe, an immeasurable deep gulf of great space.
Pestilential - There are other pestilential concerns such as fever and viruses.

Definition - extreme pain or distress of body or mind.
monotonous - The lecturer’s monotonous delivery threated to put us to sleep.
Context - boring, dull, lame
Definition - (of a sound or utterance) lacking in variation in tone or pitch.
bewildered - Bewildered and confused onlookers wandered around the streets.
Context - confused, lost, puzzled, perplexed
Definition - caused to lose one’s bearings, perplexed, confused
invalids - Her husband has become an invalid and needs around the clock care.
Context - person unable to take care of oneself
Definition - one who is sick
