so clear it stands, so little overgrown/ walking that way tonight would not seem strange

can easily return - use of parallel phrasing - sense of familiarity and comfort which makes the rs tempting

oxymoron- hopeful for a future without her but realises that it will make him unhappy still ( personal choice to neglect)

a world without her is unnatural - lack of warmth
my liberty/ it is my will’s fulfillment./willing it my ailment
rhyming couplet = resolution - knows it will make him unhappy but does so anyways since he views relationships as being conformitive - frees himself
