Exclusion Criteria for Normal lung protocol (8)

A
  1. Acute/chronic lung, pleural, or chest wall disease or abnormality
  2. Acute TBI, closed head injury, or acute spinal cord injury
  3. Post thoracic surgery
  4. Shock or hemodynamic instability
  5. Myocardial ischemia
  6. Temp abnormality (outside 33-39)
  7. Ongoing acidosis (pH less than 7.30)
  8. Excluded at request of doc

A
  • MV 5-10
  • Vt 6-8
  • RR 10-20
  • I:E = 1:1.5 or less (usually 1:2)
  • FiO2 = 60%
