Describe the Battle of Hastings.
The two armies began facing one another. The English made a shield around Harold, and the French couldn’t penetrate it. The French believed William had died, but he didn’t. The French began to retreat, and lots of the shield wall followed. The French killed those who followed, and broke through the shield wall and killed Harold, winning the battle.
