A

9th December 1973 - aimed to establish power sharing in NI and a cross boarder Council of Ireland. Collapsed in May 1974 as both sides believed it was too geared towards the other.

Bloody Friday

A

July 1972 - over 20 IRA bombs exploded in Belfast leaving 9 dead and 130 injured. In response, the British sent tanks to areas occupied by the IRA in what was known as operation motorman.
