Sincretismo
Synchretism When the form of Christianity introduced by the colonists met with the religious beliefs of the native Indian people, the result was the religious syncretism which is by and large characteristic of Latin American culture today. This syncretism is apparent in the survival of pagan rites and also in religious art, where traditional Christian images can be seen alongside native Indian symbols.
