Anti inflammatory and anti platelet
Pka of 3.5 ; absorbed in ileum
Hydrolyzed in liver, yields salicylate
Low dose assoc with low incidence of colon cancer

Adverse effects
Therapeutic : GIT disturbacnce
Large : salicylism (tinnitus, deafness, dizzines)
Toxic : uncompensted metabolic acidosis
*children : Reye’s syndrome
