What is bread mould?
A fungus that grow on bread and other food.
What are germs?
Very small living things that can cause diseases.
What is reproducing?
Producing babies or young animals or plants.
What is excreting?
Getting rid of body waste such a urine.
What is the environment?
Everything around us.
What is sensing?
Being able to see, hear, touch taste or smell things.
What is germinating?
When a seed starts to grow.
What is an organism?
A living thing.
What does it mean to hatch?
A chick breaks out of an egg in which it was growing.
What are life processes?
Things that all living things do that show us that they are alive.

What are non-living things?
Things that cannot carry out the seven life processes.

What is the function of a plant’s stem?
The stem supports the leaves and carries water, minerals and food throughout the plants.
What does a flower do?
Flowers make seeds to continue the life cycle.
Why do plants have roots?
The roots anchor the plant and absorb water and minerals from the soil.
What do leaves do?
The leaves absorb sunlight and carbon dioxide to make food for the plant.
What are limbs?
Body parts such as legs, arms, fins and wings that are used for movement.
What are sense organs?
Parts of the body that are used to sense the environment. The sense organs allow people to see, feel, hear and smell things.
What are observations?
Using your senses to look at something closely to find information about it.
What does it mean to communicate?
To share information or ideas.
What is a label?
Writing about something to give information about it.
