If the number is written inside these brackets |x|

If you simplify an Absolute value expression is the result automatically positive?

Yes it does not matter if the Value inside the Absolute value brackets is signed negative or positive the result after removing the brackets is always positive.

Is there any circumstance after simplifying the Absolute value of something that we have a negative result?

Yes, if we put a negative sign BEFORE the Absolute Value brackets we carry this over to the result i.e. -|2|=-2
