Paranoid PD
Need to constantly scan environment for signs of betrayal, deception, and ridicule, appearing mistrustful and hostile. They expect to be tricked or deceived by others. They are afraid another person will inflict harm. They tend to be extremely serious and lack a sense of humor.They are secretive and are affectively restricted, appear unemotional, and appear rational and objective. They are hypersensitive to perceived threats.
Borderline PD
Impulsive and manipulative. Tend to blame others for their problems.
Clozapine (Clozaril)
Stop medication immediately and see MD if fever develops. Could be sign of Agranulocytosis. which is a medical emergency.
benztropine (Cogentin)
reduces the extrapyramidal effects associated with anti psychotic drugs
haloperidol (Haldol)
Agitation and restlessness are adverse effects and should be reported at once.
Oculogyric Crisis
Involves a fixed positioning of the eyes, typically in an upward gaze
Neuroleptic malignant Syndrome
causes increased body temperature, muscle rigidity, and altered consciousness
Tardive Dyskinesia
Involuntary movements (tongue protrusion, lip smaking, chewing, blinking, and grimacing)
Akathisia
restlessness that can cause tapping of fingers and feet and pacing

loss of pleasure in things that are usually pleasurable

Anorexia Nervosa
- Fear of obesity
- Feels fat when thin
- Loss of at least 25%of original body weight
- refusal to maintain minimal body weight
- Amenorrhea
- Need for control and perfectionism
Bulimia
- Binge Eating (usually in Solitude)
- Increased Mood while Eating
- Decreased Mood when stops eating
- Generally sleeps after eating
- May vomit when binge is over
- Awareness that eating is abnormal
- May use diuretics, laxatives, and excessive exercise as purging behaviors
- Erosion of tooth enamel, pharyngitis from vomiting
- fear of not being able to stop eating voluntarily
- Russell’s Sign - bruises or calluses on the thumb or hand caused by trauma from self induced vomiting

Disulfiram (Antabuse)
Drug that produces intense S/E’s after ingestion of alcohol (severe nausea, vomiting, flushed face, hypotension, blurred vision)
Naltrexone (Revia)
Drug used to decrease the craving for alcohol
Acamprosate (Campral)
Drug that helps patients abstain from alcohol
