What is a nutrient?
It is a chemical founded in food.
What are the different types of food and what are their role[s]
MINERALS : immune system, bone growth
VITAMINS: production of energy, prevention of disease
CARBOHYDRATES: quick and efficient energy for movement
PROTEINS: repair and efficient working of the body tissues
FATS: provide energy very slowly ,protect vital organs
FIBRE: effective bowel and healthy digestion
WATER: main component of blood and cellls, help carry nutrients and remove waste products, helps regulate body temperature.
When does iodine turns black??
it turns black when in contact with starch a compound FULL of SUGAR…
What is the order of digestion??
1-mouth, you chew up your old for enzymes action, increase the surface area of food
2- oesophagus, pushes food to your stomach
3- stomach, churns up your food and mixes with hydrochloric acid
4- pancreas, makes digestive enzymes. Digestive enZymes convert food into SMALL SOLUBLE MOLECULES that can now be absorbed into the blood.
5-small intestine, ++ digestive juices nutrients are absorbed into the BLOOD STREAM.
6-large intestine undigested food makes it this far, any water still left is reabsorbed into the blood stream
7- rectum+anus,FAECES are stored in the rectum. Muscles in the anus pass stood out of the body.
what is the process when we burn the food in our bodies to release its energy??
it is called RESPIRATION

What are the different types of muscles ??
1-skeletal muscle Miss the only muscle that we consciously control. It’s job is to contract to move parts of the body
2-cardiac muscle is responsible for pumping blood around the body.
3-smooth muscle is found inside organs it contracts to move substances through the organ.
4- antagonistic muscle when one contracts the other relaxes..
What does the sperm duct do ??
it carries the sperm cells from the testis to the urethra.
what does urethra do??
It carries urine and semen .
what does a testis do ??
produces sperm and releases the male hormone TESTOSTERONE.
What does the glands do ??
Produce fluid that makes semen.
what does penis do ??
allows urine ans semen to pass out of the body.
what does the testicle does ??
contains testes.

what are the different changes in men during puberty ??
-voice deepens
- increases muscle growth
-testes and penis get bigger
-facial hair grows
-Shoulders broaden
- testes start to produce sperm
what are the different changes in women during puberty???
-breasts develop
-menstrual cycle
-hips widening
- vaginal discharge produced
-oestrogen and progesterone
