adolescents:
- relate to interests

- tie to concerns such as appearance and athletic performance
- address insecurities about physical changes

pregnant women:
- relate present needs to the expected performance during labour and delivery and a healthy outcome

- acknowlegde needs

adults:
- consider prior experiences
- personalize interaction to current health profile
- provide opportunity to practice

older adults:

- consider recommendations in context of quality of life
