Protects health care profession , if they stop to aid in emergency , liability is limited …… 2 stipulation - is that you are not negligent , and not reembursed for you service
What is standard of care ?
What a reasonable prudent nurse would do …. Eg: brought to court and another nurse says what you did was reasonable , someone that has similar qualification to you………. If what you do falls below the standard of care , and a nurse that does the same as you says that is is called ….NEGLIGENT
What is an informed consent ?
Approval by patient or someone authorize to have procedure complete …….responsibility as a nurse - get it signed by the physician , the physician educates the patient …. The patient has to be alert and oriented , and sign before any sedatives ……..IN CASE OF EMERGENCY if you can’t get concent —- you can give care to stabilize the patient

Describe safe and acceptable use of SRD’S ?
Get a phycians order , remove q2hrs and perform R.O.M …check for circulation , use two finger space. To make sure it’s not tight , tie a slip not to non movable place like the bed

main function is to provide energy ….FOOD—-PASTA , BREAD , RICE , VEG , POTATO & CORN……4 KCAL PER GRAM ……..( whole grain healtier because it breaks down faster .
what are vitamins? diffrenciate between fat and water soluble vitamins ?
organic compound for the function of the body …… FAT SOLUBLE VITAMINS are able to store and can be toxic which are vitamin A ,D ,E,K ………………..WATER SOLUBLE VITAMINS dose not store and excreat in the URINE , less likely to be toxic .are found in vitamins B & C
what are good food source of vitamin C , B vitamins , iron & calcium ?
vitamin C _ CITRUS , FRUITS , GREEN PEPPERS …..B VITAMINS - whole grains - maintain hoemeostasis – 4-5 bread or cereal , good for a lot of functions …….IRON — lean red meat and leafy greens …….CALCIUM - dairy products , salmon

people with weakend immune system , elderly , pregnancy , people under stress

minerals are electrolyte that carry a positive or negative charge ……MAJOR KEY ELECTROLYTES ARE - CALCIUM for the bones - SODIUM & POSTASSIUM - important for nerve function ,, they stimulate your muscle to contract
