i.e. growth hormone will not stimulate linear growth unless there is adequate nutrition

in utero or 0-2 can affect mental and cognitive growth and development
Vit A deficiency
associated with retarded growth and development
Zinc deficiency
linked to poor skeletal growth and maturation. Can be cause of major intrauterine growth retardation
Iron deficiency
commonly affects children who face compromised growth
